حَدَّثَنَا علي بن حَمْشاذَ العدلُ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشام بن علي، حَدَّثَنَا حُسينُ بن محمد، حَدَّثَنَا شَيبانُ، عن قَتَادة، عن سُليمانَ اليَشْكُري، عن أبي الأَشْعَثِ، عن عُبادة بن الصامت، قال: بايَعْنا رسولَ الله ﷺ على أن لا نخافَ في الله لومةَ لائم (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

Abu al-Ash'ath narrates from Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We pledged allegiance at the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that we would not fear, in the matter of Allah, the blame of any blamer.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات، لكن قتادة لم يسمع من سليمان بن قيس اليشكري. أبو الأشعث: هو شَراحيل بن آدَة الصَّنْعاني، وشيبان هو ابن عبد الرحمن النحوي.
Grading: (2) This hadith is sahih, and this is a chain whose narrators are thiqah,
Technical note / Defect ('illah): but Qatadah did not hear from Sulayman bin Qays al-Yashkuri.
Note / Clarification: Abu al-Ash'ath is "Sharahil bin Adah al-San'ani", and Shayban is "Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Nahwi".
وأخرجه النسائي (6110) من طريق ابن أبي عروبة، عن قتادة، عن مسلم بن يسار، عن أبي الأشعث، عن عبادة بن الصامت، وكان بدريًا، وكان بايع رسولَ الله ﷺ أن لا يخاف في الله لومة لائم … فذكر حديثًا. هكذا جاءت هذه الرواية من قول قتادة كما توضِّحه رواية الشاشي (1242)، والبيهقي 5/ 276، وليس من قول عبادة بن الصامت.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (6110) narrated it via Ibn Abi 'Arubah, from Qatadah, from Muslim bin Yasar, from Abu al-Ash'ath, from 'Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him): that he was a veteran of Badr and had pledged to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he would not fear the blame of any blamer in the matter of Allah; then he mentioned the full hadith.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This narration has come in this way as "the statement of Qatadah" (i.e. these words are Qatadah's), as the narrations of al-Shashi (1242) and al-Bayhaqi 5/ 276 make clear; it is not the statement of 'Ubadah bin al-Samit himself.
لكن أخرجه من قول عبادة بن الصامت أحمد 24/ (15653) و 37/ (22700)، والبخاري (7199)، ومسلم (1840) (41)، وابن ماجه (2866)، والنسائي (7723 - 7725) و (7727) و (7735) و (8637 - 8639) من طريق عبادة بن الوليد بن عبادة بن الصامت، عن أبيه، عن جده عُبادة بن الصامت.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: However, it is narrated as the statement of 'Ubadah bin al-Samit in Musnad Ahmad 24/ (15653) and 37/ (22700), al-Bukhari (7199), Muslim (1840) (41), Ibn Majah (2866), and al-Nasa'i (7723 - 7725), (7727), (7735) and (8637 - 8639), via 'Ubadah bin al-Walid bin 'Ubadah bin al-Samit, from his father, from his grandfather 'Ubadah bin al-Samit.
وأخرجه أحمد 24/ (15653) و 37 (22679) و (22716) و (22725)، والنسائي (7722) و (7727) و (8636) و (8637) و (8640)، وابن حبان (4547) من طريق عبادة ابن الوليد بن عبادة بن الصامت، عن عبادة بن الصامت. هكذا بإسقاط ذكر الوليد بن عبادة بن الصامت.
Details of the narration: Ahmad 24/ (15653) and 37 (22679), (22716) and (22725), al-Nasa'i (7722), (7727), (8636), (8637) and (8640), and Ibn Hibban (4547) narrated it via 'Ubadah bin al-Walid bin 'Ubadah bin al-Samit directly from 'Ubadah bin al-Samit.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This chain is thus narrated with al-Walid bin 'Ubadah bin al-Samit dropped (bi-isqat).
وأخرجه أحمد 37 / (22769) من طريق إسماعيل بن عياش عن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خُثيم، عن إسماعيل بن عبيد بن رفاعة، عن عبادة بن الصامت. والصحيح ذكر عبيد بن رفاعة في إسناده بين إسماعيل وعُبادة كما في رواية يحيى بن سُلَيم الطائفي عن ابن خُثيم عند الشاشي في "مسنده" (1258) ورواية زهير بن معاوية عن ابن خُثيم عند البيهقي في "الدلائل" 2/ 451. وبذكر عبيد بن رفاعة يصبح الإسنادُ حسنًا إن شاء الله.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): The correct form is that "'Ubayd bin Rifa'ah" is mentioned in this chain between Isma'il and 'Ubadah, as found in the narration of Yahya bin Sulaym al-Ta'ifi from Ibn Khuthaym in al-Shashi's "Musnad" (1258) and the narration of Zuhayr bin Mu'awiyah from Ibn Khuthaym in al-Bayhaqi's "al-Dala'il" 2/ 451.
