أخبرنا الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتيبة، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن عبد الله بن نُمير، حدثني يونس بن بُكَير، عن محمد بن إسحاق، حدثني مَعْبَد بن كعب بن مالك، أخو بني سَلِمة، عن أخيه عبد الله بن كعب، عن أبيه كعب بن مالك، قال: خَرجْنا في الحَجَّة التي بايَعْنا فيها رسولَ الله ﷺ في العَقَبة، فكان نَقِيبَ بني عَوف بن الحارث عبادةُ بنُ الصامت (2).
Ma'bad bin Ka'b bin Malik narrates from his brother Abdullah bin Ka'b, who narrates from his father Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: We set out in the Hajj in which we pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at Aqabah, and at that time the naqib (chief) of Banu Awf bin al-Harith was Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him).

Grading: This chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq.
وأخرج القصة بطولها الطبراني في "الكبير" 19/ (174) عن محمد بن عبد الله الحضرمي، عن محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير، بهذا الإسناد. لكن وقع عنده: عن أخيه عُبيد الله بن كعب؛ وعبد الله وعبيد الله أخوان وكلاهما ثقة.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani narrated this story in full in "al-Kabir" 19/ (174).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There the chain has "'Ubayd Allah bin Ka'b", while Abd Allah and 'Ubayd Allah are brothers and both are thiqah narrators.
وأخرجها كذلك البيهقي في "دلائل النبوة" 2/ 444 من طريق أحمد بن عبد الجبار، عن يونس بن بكير، به.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" (2/ 444) with the chain of Ahmad bin Abd al-Jabbar from Yunus bin Bukayr.
ومن طريق جرير بن حازم، عن ابن إسحاق.
Reference / Source: This narration is also transmitted from Muhammad bin Ishaq via Jarir bin Hazim.
Grading: This chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq.
