Book of Knowing the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them)
عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ: بَدْرِيٌّ، أُحُدِيٌّ، شَجَرِيٌّ، عَقَبِيٌّ، نَقِيبٌ
Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) was present at Badr, Uhud, the Pledge under the Tree and al-Aqabah, and was a leader

أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الزاهد، حَدَّثَنَا أحمد بن مِهْران الأصبَهاني، حَدَّثَنَا أبو نُعيم، حَدَّثَنَا سفيان، عن ثَوْر بن يَزِيد، عن مَكحُول، قال: كان عُبادةُ بن الصامت وشَدَّادُ بن أوسٍ يَسكُنان بيتَ المَقدِسِ، وكان عبادةُ يُكنى أبا الوليد (1).
It is narrated from Makhul that he said: Ubadah bin al-Samit and Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with them both) lived in Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), and Ubadah's (may Allah be pleased with him) kunyah was Abu al-Walid.

(1) إسناده حسن من أجل أحمد بن مِهران الأصبهاني. أبو نُعيم: هو الفضل بن دُكين، وسفيان: هو الثوري.
Grading: Its chain is hasan because of Ahmad bin Mihran al-Asbahani.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Nu'aym is al-Fadl bin Dukayn, and Sufyan is Sufyan al-Thawri.
وأخرجه أبو نعيم في "معرفة الصحابة" (4830) من طريق محمد بن يوسف الفريابي، عن سفيان الثوري به.
Reference / Source: Abu Nu'aym narrated it at (4830) via Muhammad bin Yusuf al-Firyabi from Sufyan al-Thawri.
