It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a cloth with which he (peace and blessings be upon him) would dry (his limbs) after ablution.
Imam al-Hakim says: Abu Mu'adh (Fudayl bin Maysarah) is from Basrah; Yahya bin Sa'id narrated from him and praised him. This hadith has also been narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik and others, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is da'if. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Mu'adh refers to "Sulayman bin Arqam", as al-Tirmidhi, al-Daraqutni (388) and al-Bayhaqi (1/ 185) have stated explicitly, and he is a weak narrator. He is not "al-Fadl bin Maysarah" as the author (al-Hakim) supposed. Reference / Source: Imam al-Tirmidhi narrated it (53) through the chain of Sufyan bin Waki' from 'Abd Allah bin Wahb, and declared it weak because of Abu Mu'adh (Sulayman bin Arqam). Important point: The best narration in this chapter is that of Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed wudu', then turned inside out a woollen cloak (jubbah) he was wearing and wiped his face with it." Reference / Source: Ibn Majah narrated it (468) through the chain of Mahfuz bin 'Alqamah from Salman. Grading: Its chain is hasan if it is free from a break (inqita', i.e. the narrators not having met).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts, due to corruption (tahrif), the name is written as "al-Fadl".
