Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5476

أخبرنا أبو الحسن علي بن محمد القرشي، بالكوفة، حدَّثنا الحسن بن علي بن عفّان العامري، حدَّثنا مُصعب بن المِقدام، حدَّثنا سفيان، عن الأعمش، عن إبراهيم، عن عَلقمة، عن عمر، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "مَن أحبَّ أن يقرأ القرآنَ غَضًّا كما أُنزِل، فلْيَقرأه على قراءةِ ابن أمِّ عبدٍ" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever would like to recite the Qur'an fresh, just as it was revealed, let him recite it according to the recitation of Ibn Umm Abd (Abdullah bin Mas'ud)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) حديث صحيح، وقد تقدَّم برقم (2930) من طريق القاسم بن بشر عن مصعب بن المقدام.
Grading: (1) This hadith is sahih, and it has passed earlier at number (2930) by way of al-Qasim bin Bishr (from Mus'ab bin al-Miqdam).
وتقدَّم كذلك ضمن حديث مطوَّل برقم (2929) من طريق أبي معاوية عن الأعمش.
Details of the narration: Likewise, this hadith has also passed at number (2929) within a lengthy hadith by way of Abu Mu'awiyah (from al-A'mash).
