Mustadrak al-Hakim 5416 — The death of Abd al-Rahman bin Awf
حدَّثنا محمد بن المُؤمَّل، حدَّثنا الفضل بن محمد، حدَّثنا أحمد بن حنبل، حدَّثنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم بن سعد، قال: مات عبدُ الرحمن بن عوف لِتسعٍ من سِنيِّ عثمان، وصلَّى عليه عثمانُ، وكان قد بلغ خمسًا وسبعين سنةً (3).
Ya'qub bin Ibrahim bin Sa'd narrates that Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away in the ninth year of the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) led his funeral prayer, and at that time he was seventy-five years old.

(3) وأخرجه البخاري في "تاريخه الكبير" 5/ 240، وابن عساكر 35/ 242 و 305 من طريقين عن أحمد بن حنبل، دون قوله: وصلَّى عليه عثمان.
Reference / Source: (3) Al-Bukhari recorded it in his "al-Tarikh al-Kabir" (5/ 240), and Ibn Asakir (35/ 242 and 305), through two routes from Ahmad bin Hanbal.
