Book of Knowing the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them)
مَا اسْتَبَانَ لَكُمْ فَاعْمَلُوا بِهِ ، وَمَا أَشْكَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ ، فَكِلُوهُ إِلَى عَالِمِهِ
Act on what is clear to you, and refer what is unclear to you to one who knows it

حدَّثنا أبو بكر أحمد بن سَلْمان الفقيه ببغداد، حدَّثنا الحسن بن مُكرَم، حدَّثنا يزيد بن هارون، عن محمد بن إسحاق: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ آخَى بين أصحابِه، فآخَى بينَ أُبي بن كعب وسعيد بن زيد بن عمرو بن نُفَيل (1).
It is narrated from Muhammad bin Ishaq that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood among his Companions, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood (mu'akhah) between Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b and Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd bin Amr bin Nufayl (may Allah be pleased with them both).

(1) وهو في "السيرة النبوية" لابن هشام 1/ 505 لكن تحرَّف في المطبوع منه اسمُ سعيد بن زيد إلى: سعد بن زيد.
Reference / Source: (1) It is in Ibn Hisham's "al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah" (1/ 505), but in its printed edition the name "Sa'id bin Zayd" was corrupted into "Sa'd bin Zayd".
وخالفه الواقدي كما في "طبقات ابن سعد" 3/ 462 فروى بعدة أسانيد له: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ آخى بين أُبي بن كعب وطلحة بن عُبيد الله. فالله أعلم.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Waqidi differed from him (as in "Tabaqat Ibn Sa'd" 3/ 462): he narrated through several chains of his that "the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood between Ubayy bin Ka'b and Talhah bin Ubayd Allah." And Allah knows best.
