حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق الصَّغَاني، حدثنا أبو اليَمَان، حدثنا شعيب، عن الزُّهْري، عن عبد الله بن ثعلبة بن صُعَير: أَنَّ النبي ﷺ مَسَحَ على رأسِه (2).
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Tha'labah bin Su'ayr that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his blessed hand over his head.

(2) إسناده صحيح أبو اليمان هو الحكم بن نافع، وشعيب: هو ابن أبي حمزة.
Grading: (2) Its chain is sahih.
Note / Clarification: "Abu al-Yaman" refers to al-Hakam bin Nafi', and "Shu'ayb" refers to Ibn Abi Hamzah.
وأخرجه أحمد 39/ (23667)، والبخاري (6356) عن أبي اليمان، بهذا الإسناد. لكن قال أحمد في روايته: مسح وجهه زمن الفتح، وقال البخاري: مسح عنه.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (39/ 23667) and al-Bukhari (6356) recorded it from Abu al-Yaman with this chain.
Details of the narration: But Ahmad said in his narration: "He wiped his face at the time of the Conquest", and al-Bukhari said: "He wiped (dust and the like) from him (his face)."
وأخرجه أحمد 39/ (23665) من طريق يونس بن يزيد، و (23666) من طريق محمد بن الوليد الزُّبيدي، كلاهما عن الزهري، به بلفظ: مسح وجهه. زاد الزبيدي: يوم الفتح.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (39/ 23665) recorded it by way of Yunus bin Yazid, and (23666) by way of Muhammad bin al-Walid al-Zubaydi. Both of them narrate it from al-Zuhri with the wording: "He wiped his face." Al-Zubaydi added: "on the day of the Conquest".
Grading: (2) Its chain is sahih.
