حدثنا أبو عبد الله الشَّيباني، حدثنا إبراهيم بن عبد الله، حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق، عن الزُّهْري، عن عبد الله بن ثعلبة بن صُعَير العَدَوي، وكان وُلِدَ عام الفتح، فأُتي به رسولُ الله، فمَسَح وجهَه وبَرَّك عليه (1). ذكرُ مناقب عبد الله بن عَدِيّ بن الحَمْراء ﵁ -
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Tha'labah bin Su'ayr al-Adawi, who was born in the year of the Conquest of Makkah, that he was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over his face and supplicated for blessing for him.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسنٌ من أجل محمد بن إسحاق، وقد صرَّح بالسماع في رواية يونس بن بُكَير عند البيهقي في "الدلائل" 3/ 290، وابن الأثير في "أسد الغابة" 3/ 87، وابن عساكر 27/ 180.
Grading: (1) This hadith is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" because of Muhammad bin Ishaq.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): He explicitly stated that he heard it directly, in the narration of Yunus bin Bukayr in al-Bayhaqi's "al-Dala'il" (3/ 290), Ibn al-Athir's "Usd al-Ghabah" (3/ 87) and Ibn 'Asakir (27/ 180).
