أخبرني أحمد بن محمد العَنَزي، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، حدثنا عبد الله بن صالح، حدثني الليث، عن الحارث بن يعقوب، عن قيس بن رافع، عن عبد الرحمن بن جُبير بن نُفير، عن عبد الله بن عمرو: أنه مرَّ بمعاذ بن جَبَل وهو قائم على بابِه يُشير بيدِه، كأنه يُحدَّث نفسَه، فقال له عبد الله: ما شأنُك يا أبا عبد الرحمن، كأنك تُحدِّث نفسَك؟ (2)
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he passed by Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was standing at his door gesturing with his hand as if talking to himself. So Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman, what is the matter with you? You look as though you are talking to yourself."
