Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5244

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the people of Yemen came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Send with us a man who will teach us the Qur'an." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) took Abu Ubaydah by the hand, sent him with them and said: "This is the trustee of this Ummah."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it with the mention of the Qur'an.
