It is narrated from Urwah, concerning those from Banu Zuhrah bin Kilab who emigrated to Abyssinia with Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him): among them are Utbah bin Mas'ud and his brother Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: (2) Muhammad bin Ishaq agreed with 'Urwah in counting 'Utbah bin Mas'ud among the emigrants to Abyssinia [see: Sirat Ibn Hisham 1/326]. He mentioned that he was a "halif" (confederate) of Banu Zuhrah bin Kilab and belonged to "Hudhayl".
Note / Clarification: This is the meaning of 'Urwah's statement "he was from Banu Zuhrah": that he was their confederate.
Reference / Source: Ibn Sa'd said in "al-Tabaqat" [4/118]: "According to the narration of all of them, he emigrated to Abyssinia in the second emigration."
