أخبرني أبو سعيد أحمد بن يعقوب الثَّقَفي، حدثنا موسى بن زكريا التُّستَري، حدثنا خَليفة بن خَيّاط العُصفُري، قال: مات أبو كَبْشةَ مولى رسولِ الله ﷺ سنةَ ثلاثَ عشرةَ (1).
Khalifah bin Khayyat relates that Sayyiduna Abu Kabshah (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), passed away in the year 13 AH.

(1) كذا وقع في نسخنا الخطية، وهو خطأ، فقد جاء هذا الخبر في "تاريخ خليفة بن خياط" ص 156 وفيه تأريخ وفاة أبي كبشة سنة ثلاث وعشرين، وكذلك رواه ابن عساكر في "تاريخ دمشق" 4/ 298 من طريق أبي الحسن أحمد بن عمران بن موسى الأُشناني، عن موسى بن زكريا التُّستَري، عن خليفة.
Correction of the text: This is how it appears in our manuscripts, and it is a mistake. For this report is found in "Tarikh Khalifah bin Khayyat" (p. 156), and there the date of Abu Kabshah's death is given as the year 23 AH. Likewise Ibn 'Asakir narrated it in "Tarikh Dimashq" (4/298) by way of Abu al-Hasan Ahmad bin 'Imran bin Musa al-Ushnani, from Musa bin Zakariyya al-Tustari, from Khalifah.
