It is narrated from Sayyiduna Urwah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him), in the list of names of the Companions who took part in the Battle of Badr with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that among them was Sayyiduna Jabbar bin Sakhr bin Umayyah bin Khansa' bin Sinan (may Allah be pleased with him).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (2) The wording between the square brackets had dropped out of our manuscripts, whereas mentioning it is necessary to complete the report. This wording is established in al-Tabarani's "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" (2133) in the narration of Abu 'Ulathah Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Khalid al-Harrani.
Grading: (3) Its narrators are acceptable (la ba'sa bihim), as was explained at number (4378). Technical note / Defect ('illah): The details of the narrators in the chain are: Abu 'Ulathah is Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Khalid al-Harrani, Ibn Lahi'ah is 'Abd Allah bin Lahi'ah, Abu al-Aswad is Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman (the orphan of 'Urwah), and 'Urwah is 'Urwah bin al-Zubayr bin al-'Awwam. Reference / Source: Imam al-Tabarani narrated it in "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" (2133) from Abu 'Ulathah, with this same chain. Important point: The experts in the Maghazi and Sirah state with certainty that Jabbar bin Sakhr (may Allah be pleased with him) took part in the Battle of Badr. Reference / Source: Al-Waqidi reported in "al-Maghazi" (1/138) from Mahmud bin Labid that it was Jabbar who took Nawfal bin al-Harith captive on the day of Badr.
