Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 505

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about sea water, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its water is purifying and its dead (animals) are lawful." As for the hadith of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), we have already mentioned it.
