It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about sea water: "May we perform ablution with it?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its water is purifying and its dead (animals) are lawful."
