Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4966

حدثني محمد بن صالح بن هانئ حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى الشهيد، حَدَّثَنَا بن عبد الوهاب الحَجَبي، حَدَّثَنَا حاتم بن إسماعيل، عن عبد الأعلى بن عبد الله بن أبي فَرْوة، عن قَطَن بن وَهْب، عن عُبيد بن عُمير، عن أبي ذَرّ، قال: لما فرغَ رسولُ الله ﷺ يومَ أُحدٍ مَرّ على مُصعب بن عُمير (3) مقتولًا على طريقه، فقرأ: ﴿مَنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا الله عَلَيْهِ﴾ الآية [الأحزاب: 23] (4).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. ذكرُ مناقب سعد بن الرَّبيع بن عمرو الخَزْرجي العَقَبيّ أحدُ النقباء الاثني عشر، وكان كاتبًا شهد بدرًا، وقُتل يومَ أُحُد.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished with the Battle of Uhud, he passed on his way by Mus'ab bin Umayr, who had been martyred, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "Among the believers are men who have been true to the covenant they made with Allah" [Surah al-Ahzab: 23].
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(3) وقع في (ز) والمطبوع: مصعب الأنصاري، وهو خطأ، إنما هو مهاجريّ لا أنصاريّ، والتصويب من (ص) و (م)، وهو الموافق لما في رواية البيهقي في "دلائل النبوة" 3/ 284 - 285.
Note / Clarification: (3) Manuscript (Z) and the printed edition have "Mus'ab al-Ansari", which is wrong (he was a Muhajir); the correction is made from manuscripts (S) and (M), which also agrees with al-Bayhaqi's "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah": 3/284-285.

(4) رجاله لا بأس بهم، لكن الصحيح أنه من رواية عُبيد بن عُمير مرسلًا كما تقدَّم بيانه برقم (3014).
Grading: (4) Its narrators are "la ba'sa bihim", but the correct position is that it is from the narration of 'Ubayd bin 'Umayr, "mursal", as explained at no. (3014).
وأخرجه البيهقي في "دلائل النبوة" 3/ 284 - 285 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد. وأخرجه أبو نعيم في "حلية الأولياء" 1/ 107، من طريق قتيبة بن سعيد، عن حاتم بن إسماعيل، عن عبد الأعلى، عن قَطَن بن وهب، عن عُبيد بن عُمير، مرسلًا.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah": 3/284-285 from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain. And Abu Nu'aym narrated it in "Hilyat al-Awliya'": 1/107 via Qutaybah bin Sa'id > Hatim bin Isma'il > 'Abd al-A'la > Qatan bin Wahb > 'Ubayd bin 'Umayr, "mursal".
