Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) Its chain is "da'if" because of the weakness of Abu Hammad al-Hanafi (whose name is al-Mughaffal bin Sadaqah) and 'Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin 'Aqil.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Naming the shaykh of Ahmad bin Ya'qub al-Thaqafi here as "Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Wahhab al-Hadrami" is an error; the correct name is "Muhammad bin 'Abd Allah al-Hadrami", known by the nickname "Mutayyan", and al-Tabarani narrated this report from him with this same chain in "al-Kabir": (2932). This narration has passed within a long hadith at no. (2589) and will come at no. (4961) via Abu Ishaq al-Fazari, from Abu Hammad.
Details of the narration: The mention of the "muthlah" (mutilation of the body) of Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) will come after this in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Reference / Source: This content has passed at nos. (1367), (2595) and (4948) from the hadith of Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and at no. (3408) from the hadith of Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him).
Details of the narration: And it will also come at no. (4956) from the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him).
Technical note / Lexicon: "Mithaluhu" refers to the manner in which his body was mutilated (muthlah).
