حدثنا أبو العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الحسن بن علي بن عفّان، حدثنا معاوية بن هشام، حدثنا سفيان، عن عاصم بن عُبيد الله، عن القاسم بن محمد، عن عائشة قالت: قَبّلَ رسولُ الله ﷺ عثمانَ بن مَطْعُون بعدما ماتَ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kissed Uthman bin Maz'un after he had died.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) حديث قابل للتحسين، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لضعف عاصم بن عُبيد الله، لكن روي ما يشهد له كما تقدَّم بيانه برقم (1350) حيث تقدَّم الخبر هناك من طريقين عن سفيان: وهو الثوري.
Grading: This hadith is capable of being graded hasan.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Although this present chain is weak due to the weakness of 'Asim bin 'Ubayd Allah, supporting reports for it are narrated, as has passed at hadith no. (1350).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: There this narration came from Sufyan al-Thawri (Sufyan bin Sa'id bin Masruq al-Thawri) through two routes, which strengthens it.
