Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading of the chain: This chain is utterly "talif" (ruined) because of Mu'alla bin 'Abd al-Rahman.
Criticism and praise of narrators: He is "matruk" (abandoned), as al-Dhahabi said in "al-Talkhis"; indeed some even accused him of fabricating hadith. This hadith is not known from Ibn 'Umar except through this narration of his. Ibn Abi Dhi'b is "Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman".
Source / Reference: Ibn Majah (118) narrated it from Muhammad bin Musa al-Qattan al-Wasiti with this same chain.
