It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) would say (out of intense grief): "O my dear father, how near he has drawn to his Lord! O my dear father, whose abode is the Gardens of Eternity! O my dear father, when he came to his Lord, his Lord honoured him! O my dear father, when he met his Lord, the Lord and His messengers sent peace upon him!" Then when Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away, Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) recited these verses: "Every gathering of two close friends ends in parting, and all that falls short of parting is little. My losing one (beloved) after another is proof that no friend lasts forever."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Lexical note: (1) In our manuscripts, in all four places, this word came with the hamzah of "أبتاه" omitted ("بتاه"), and this is a known dialectal usage (lughah), in which the hamzah is dropped for lightening (takhfif) because of frequent use. An example of this is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) "ويلمه مِسعَرَ حَربٍ", whose original form was "ويلٌ لأمِّه"; then the lam and the hamzah of "لأمه" were dropped for lightening. See Ibn Malik's "Shawahid al-Tawdih wa al-Tashih" (p. 157). Although al-Suyuti, al-Khafaji and others considered it "shadh" (irregular), it is better to regard it as a (legitimate) "dialectal usage".
Grading: (2) There is no harm in its narrators (la ba'sa bihim), but it is "mursal". Technical note / Defect ('illah): For 'Ali bin al-Husayn - who is the grandson of 'Ali bin Abi Talib - did not meet his grandfather 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). And there has also been disagreement over it from Isma'il bin Abi Uways. Reference / Source: And it is in the author's "Fada'il Fatimah" (74), but there he mentioned "Abu Uways" in place of Musa bin Ja'far!! And Abu Uways (the father of Isma'il) is "da'if" (weak). Reference / Source: And he narrated it in (119) via al-Fadl bin Muhammad al-Sha'rani, from Isma'il bin Abi Uways, from Muhammad bin Ja'far bin Muhammad bin 'Ali, from his father, from his grandfather, from 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Details of the narration: So he mentioned Fatimah's words but did not mention 'Ali's verse. And in it he mentioned "Muhammad bin Ja'far bin Muhammad bin 'Ali" (the brother of Musa), and did not mention 'Ali bin al-Husayn!!
