لَنْ يُفْلِحَ قَوْمٌ وَلَّوْا أَمْرَهُمُ امْرَأَةً .

حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله الحَفِيد، حدثنا أحمد بن نصر، حدثنا أبو نُعيم الفضل بن دُكَين، حدثنا عبد الجبار بن الوَرْد، عن عمّار الدُّهْني، عن سالم بن أبي الجَعْد، عن أم سلمة، قالت: ذكرَ النبيُّ ﷺ خُروجَ بعضِ أمهاتِ المؤمنين، فضحكتْ عائشةُ، فقال: "انظُري يا حُمَيراء، أن لا تكوني أنتِ"، ثم التفتَ إلى عليٍّ، فقال: "إن وَليتَ من أمرِها شيئًا فارفُقْ بها" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned that one of his pure wives would go out, and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) laughed. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Humayra! Take care that it is not you." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) turned to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "If you are given authority over any of her affairs, treat her with gentleness and kindness."

(2) إسناده ليِّن عبد الجبار بن الورد ليس بذاك الثقة الضابط، وثقه غير واحد، لكن قال البخاري: يخالف في حديثه، وقال ابن حبان: يخطئ ويهم وليّنه الدارقطني، ثم إنَّ في الإسناد شبهة انقطاع، فقد قال الذهبي في "معجم شيوخه" 1/ 201 في حديث ذكره لسالم عن أم سلمة: إنَّ سالمًا لا يُحفظ له سماعٌ من أم سلمة، ونحوه قول الحافظ ابن حجر في "إتحاف المهرة" بين يدي الحديث (23404): ما أظن سالمًا سمع من أم سلمة، ونقل العلائي في "جامع التحصيل" أنَّ بعضهم جزم بعدم سماع سالم من أم سلمة.
Grading: (2) Its chain is "layyin" (soft, weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): First: Abd al-Jabbar bin al-Ward is not a very strong and precise thiqah; although several scholars declared him trustworthy, al-Bukhari said: he contradicts others in his hadith; Ibn Hibban said: he errs and makes mistakes; and al-Daraqutni declared him "layyin". Second: there is a suspicion of a break (inqita') in the chain. Al-Dhahabi said in "Mu'jam Shuyukhih" (1/201), under a hadith of Salim from Umm Salamah: no hearing of Salim from Umm Salamah is known. Similarly al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in "Ithaf al-Maharah" (23404): I do not think Salim heard from Umm Salamah. And al-Ala'i reported in "Jami' al-Tahsil" that some stated with certainty that Salim did not hear from Umm Salamah.
وأخرجه البيهقي في "دلائل النبوة" 6/ 411 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
