فحدثني بكر بن محمد الصَّيْرفي بِمَرُو، حدثنا عبد الصمد بن الفضل، حدثنا مكّي بن إبراهيم، حدثنا السَّرِيّ بن إسماعيل، عن الشَّعْبي، أنه قال: ماذا يُتوقَّعُ من هذه الدنيا الدَّنِيَّة وقد سُمَّ رسولُ الله ﷺ، وسُمَّ أبو بكر الصِّدِّيق، وقُتل عمرُ حَتْفَ أنفِه، وكذلك قُتل عثمانُ وعليٌّ، وسُمَّ الحسنُ، وقُتل الحُسين حَتْفَ أنفِه (2).

It is narrated from Imam al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: What can now be expected from this lowly world, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was poisoned, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) was poisoned, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, likewise Uthman and Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) were martyred, al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) was poisoned, and al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred.

(2) إسناده ضعيف جدًّا، قال الذهبي في "تلخيصه": السَّرِيُّ متروك.
Grading: Its chain is "very weak". Al-Dhahabi said in his "Talkhis": Al-Sari is "matruk".
وهو مكرر الخبر المتقدم برقم (4443) غير أنه ذكر هناك داود بن يزيد الأَوْدي بدل السّرِيّ، وهو ضعيف أيضًا.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This report has already passed (at no. 4443) and is repeated here, except that there "Dawud bin Yazid al-Awdi" was mentioned in place of al-Sari, and he too is weak.
