Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4413

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: On the day of the conquest, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah in such a manner that, out of humility and lowliness, his (peace and blessings be upon him) blessed chin was touching his saddle.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Hasan li-ghayrihi (hasan due to supporting reports).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The chain of this narration is weak because of the weakness of Abd Allah bin Abi Bakr al-Muqaddami, and he is alone in narrating it from Ja'far bin Sulayman.
Reference / Source: Al-Dhahabi declared it sahih in "Tarikh al-Islam" (1/ 370), even though in "al-Mizan" he counted it among the munkar narrations of Abd Allah bin Abi Bakr al-Muqaddami. Ibn Adi, after mentioning it in "al-Kamil" in the biography of al-Muqaddami, said: I have seen someone other than al-Muqaddami narrate it from Ja'far.
Important point: According to our research, we did not find anyone's narration of it other than al-Muqaddami's; however, this narration has been found "mursal" from several Successors with a chain that is "la ba'sa bihi" (a chain in which there is no harm), so on the basis of these supporting reports this narration reaches the level of "hasan", if Allah wills.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" (5/ 68) through Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: Abu Ya'la narrated this narration in "al-Musnad" (3393), and through him Ibn Adi in "al-Kamil" (4/ 259), and Ibn Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" (4/ 80), by way of Abd Allah bin Abi Bakr al-Muqaddami.
Note / Clarification: This same narration will come again later at number (8086).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: For this narration there are "mursal" narrations of Abd Allah bin Abi Bakr bin Amr bin Hazm, Ibn Abi Najih and Yahya bin Abbad bin Abd Allah bin al-Zubayr as supporting reports, which are in Ibn Ishaq as found in "Sirat Ibn Hisham" (2/ 405) and in Ibn al-Mubarak's "al-Zuhd" (narration of Nu'aym bin Hammad, number 194), and there is no harm in their narrators ("la ba'sa bihim").
Reference / Source: This narration is also in al-Waqidi's "al-Maghazi" (2/ 24) from the Musnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him),
Technical note / Defect ('illah): but he was not corroborated in it.
