Abdullah bin Buraydah narrates from his father that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes suffer from migraine (shaqiqah), because of which he (peace and blessings be upon him) would not come out for a day or two. When he reached Khaybar, he was struck by migraine and did not come out to the people. So Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) took up the banner of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), advanced and fought fiercely, and then he returned.
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) With this wording its chain is da'if. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Musayyab bin Muslim al-Azdi (whom some call al-Musayyab bin Darim, though he is not him) is "majhul" (unknown), as al-Dhahabi said in "al-Mizan". Others narrated the story of Khaybar from 'Abd Allah bin Buraydah but did not mention in it that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to suffer from "shaqiqah" (migraine). So this is something in which al-Musayyab is alone, and he was not corroborated in it. Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" (4/ 210) by way of Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin 'Amr al-Razzaz, from Ahmad bin 'Abd al-Jabbar, with this chain. Reference / Source: Al-Tabari narrated it in his "Tarikh" (3/ 12) from Abu Kurayb, from Yunus bin Bukayr, likewise. Reference / Source: Abu Nu'aym mentioned in "al-Tibb al-Nabawi" (240) that Muhammad bin 'Abd Allah bin Numayr narrated from Yunus bin Bukayr, from al-Musayyab bin Darim, from 'Abd Allah bin Buraydah, from his father, and mentioned the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) suffering from migraine. Technical note / Identification of narrators: He named Yunus's shaykh "al-Musayyab bin Darim". But al-Musayyab bin Darim is older than al-Musayyab bin Muslim, and he lived in the time of 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), so he cannot be this (narrator). And Allah knows best. Reference / Source: The story of Khaybar and what happened in it - the sending of Abu Bakr, then the sending of 'Umar, then the sending of 'Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with them all) - was recorded by Ahmad (38/ 22993) and al-Nasa'i (8346, 8547) by way of al-Husayn bin Waqid; and by al-Nasa'i (8347) by way of Maymun Abu 'Abd Allah al-Azdi. Both of them narrate it from 'Abd Allah bin Buraydah, likewise. Details of the narration: But Maymun did not mention Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) in his narration; rather, he limited himself to mentioning 'Umar and 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with them). The chain of the narration of al-Husayn bin Waqid is "qawi" (strong). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is authentically established from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had himself cupped on his head while in ihram because of a migraine he had." Al-Bukhari cited it as mu'allaq in a definitive form (5701), and in another narration in Abu Dawud (1836) the wording is: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) had himself cupped on his head because of an ailment he had."
