Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (1) The text between the square brackets was missing from the manuscripts, and it is necessary, because without it one would imagine that "al-Aqlah" is a title of 'Asim, whereas "Abu al-Aqlah" is the kunyah of his grandfather, whose name is Qays.
Grading: (2) This hadith is hasan li-ghayrihi (hasan through other supports).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrators of this chain are "thiqah" (trustworthy), but there is a disagreement over whether it is "mawsul" (connected) or "mursal" in the narration from Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah. Minjab bin al-Harith narrated it as mawsul (connected), and Ahmad bin Salih al-Misri and Ibrahim bin Muhammad al-Shafi'i corroborated him in that. Whereas Sa'id bin Mansur and Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah went against them and narrated it from Ibn 'Uyaynah, from 'Amr bin Dinar, from 'Ikrimah, as mursal. Abu 'Ali al-Hafiz said (as the author will quote from him at no. 5844): "What is well known is the hadith of Ibn 'Uyaynah from 'Amr bin Dinar from 'Ikrimah as mursal." We say: after that, the hadith was also narrated through another, unreliable route from 'Ikrimah as mawsul, but the report has "shawahid" (supporting reports) through which it is hasan, if Allah wills.

Details of the narration: And this narration will come later (no. 5843) by way of Ahmad bin Salih, from Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, as mawsul.
Reference / Source: Sa'id bin Mansur (2851) and Ibn Abi Shaybah in "al-Musannaf" (12/ 205 and 14/ 401) narrated it, both from Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, from 'Amr bin Dinar, from 'Ikrimah, as mursal.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is supported by the hadith of Sahl bin Hunayf with the author (no. 5845), but its chain is da'if.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the hadith of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas is also a shahid (Ibn Ishaq in "al-Sirah", as in "Sirat Ibn Hisham" 2/ 100, and "Tarikh al-Tabari" 2/ 532); there is no harm in its narrators, but it is munqati'.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the mursal narration of Maymun bin Mihran al-Jazari (Ibn Sa'd, al-Tabaqat 3/ 516) is also a shahid; its narrators are thiqah.

Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the mursal narration of Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri (Abu Nu'aym, al-Tibb al-Nabawi 475; al-Bayhaqi, al-Dala'il 3/ 215) is also a shahid; there is no harm in its narrators (la ba'sa bihim).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the mursal narration of 'Urwah bin al-Zubayr (al-Bayhaqi, also 3/ 283) is also a shahid, but its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who has "poor memory" (sayyi' al-hifz).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the mursal narration of Muhammad bin Ka'b al-Qurazi (Ibn Abi Shaybah 14/ 400) is also a shahid, but the narrator from him, Musa bin 'Ubaydah al-Rabadhi, is "da'if".
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the mursal narration of Sa'id bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin Abza (Ibn Abi Shaybah, also 14/ 407) is also a shahid, but he did not name anyone, rather he referred to them indirectly as "so-and-so and so-and-so"; there is no harm in its narrators (la ba'sa bihim).
