It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdul Rahman bin Abi Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man used to sit in the gathering of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said something, he would (in mockery) make strange movements with his face and pull faces. Seeing this behaviour of his, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Kun kadhalik (Become like that)." So that man remained afflicted with that twitching and distortion of the face (a palsied state) until the day he died.
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) This chain is very weak (da'if jiddan). Technical note / Defect ('illah): Dirar bin Surad is "wahin" (very weak), as al-Dhahabi said in "al-Talkhis". And there is no harm in A'idh bin Habib (la ba'sa bihi), but he had Shi'i leanings. Details of the narration: In some narrations of the hadith it comes that the man who is left unnamed in this narration is "al-Hakam bin Abi al-As" (the father of Marwan). And as for Abd Allah al-Muzani (in the chain), we could not establish who he is. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Something similar to this story about al-Hakam bin Abi al-As has been narrated through several other chains, the best of which is the narration of Hind bin Hind bin Abi Halah, but it is "mursal". Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" (6/239) from a group of his shaykhs, among them Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim, with this same chain. Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani narrated it in "al-Kabir" (3167) from Muhammad bin Abd Allah al-Hadrami, and Ibn Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" (57/270) through the route of Abu Hatim al-Razi. Both of them narrate it from Dirar bin Surad with this same chain. Details of the narration: Both of them explicitly mentioned the name "al-Hakam bin Abi al-As". Reference / Source: Al-Khattabi narrated it in "Gharib al-Hadith" (1/542-543), Ibn Qani' in "Mu'jam al-Sahabah" (3/196), Abu Nu'aym in "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah" (6555) and "al-Tibb al-Nabawi" (580), al-Bayhaqi in "al-Dala'il" (6/240) and Ibn Abd al-Barr in "al-Isti'ab" (in the biography of Hind bin Abi Halah, 2661), through the route of Malik bin Dinar from Hind Ibn Khadijah (who is Hind bin Hind bin Abi Halah). Details of the narration: He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by al-Hakam bin Abi al-As, and he began winking at the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and pointing with his finger (i.e. mimicking him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned and said: "O Allah, afflict him with wazagh (trembling)." So he began to shake where he stood. (Al-wazagh: shaking.) Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is no harm in its narrators (la ba'sa bihim), but it is "mursal", because the narrator mentioned (Hind bin Hind) is a Successor (tabi'i); the honour of companionship belongs to his father. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Something similar to this narration of Hind was also narrated by al-Bayhaqi in "al-Dala'il" (6/239) from the hadith of Abd Allah bin Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them both). Grading: Its chain is very weak (da'if jiddan).
