أخبرنا أبو الحسن أحمد بن محمد العَنَزِي، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، قال: قلت لأبي اليَمَان: حدَّثكَ أبو بكر بن أبي مريم الغَسّاني، عن سعيد بن سُوَيد، عن العِرْباض بن سارِيَة السُّلمي، قال: سمعتُ النبي ﷺ يقول: "إني عندَ الله في أوّل الكتاب لَخاتَمُ النبيين، وإنّ آدمَ لمُنْجَدِلٌ في طِينتِه، وسأنبِّئكم بتأويل ذلك: دعوةُ أبي إبراهيم، وبِشارةُ عيسى قومَه، ورُؤْيا أمي التي رأَتْ أنه خرج منها نُورٌ أضاءت له قصورُ الشام" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، شاهدٌ للحديث الأول.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Irbad bin Sariyah al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him); he said that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I was, with Allah, in the Mother of the Book (the Preserved Tablet), the Seal of the Prophets even when Adam (peace be upon him) was still lying kneaded in his clay. And I will tell you its explanation: I am the supplication of my father Ibrahim (peace be upon him), the glad tidings Isa (peace be upon him) gave to his people, and the dream of my mother, who saw that a light came out of her by which the palaces of Syria were illuminated."

Note / Clarification: Manuscripts (Z) and (B) have the word "khiyar".
(3) صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لضعف أبي بكر بن أبي مريم الغَسّاني، وقد قصَّر في إسناده كما قال البيهقي في "دلائل النبوة" 1/ 83، فلم يذكر فيه عبدَ الأعلى بنَ هلال بين سعيد بن سُويد وبين العرباض، وذكره معاوية بن صالح الثقة كما تقدم برقم (3608)، وعبد الأعلى بن هلال روى عنه جمع وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات"، فإسناد رواية معاوية بن صالح حسنٌ على أن له شواهد. أبو اليمان: هو الحكم بن نافع. وأخرجه أحمد 28/ (17163) عن أبي اليمان الحكم بن نافع، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: It is "sahih li-ghayrihi," but this particular chain is weak because of the weakness of Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam al-Ghassani.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): He fell short in its chain, as al-Bayhaqi said in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" 1/83, for he did not mention 'Abd al-A'la bin Hilal between Sa'id bin Suwayd and al-'Irbad, whereas the trustworthy Mu'awiyah bin Salih mentioned him, as passed under no. (3608). 'Abd al-A'la bin Hilal was narrated from by a group and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat," so the chain of Mu'awiyah bin Salih's narration is "hasan," besides the fact that it has supporting reports. Abu al-Yaman is al-Hakam bin Nafi'.

ويشهد لقوله: "دعوة أبي إبراهيم" إلى آخر الحديث ما قبله. ويشهد لقوله: "إني لخاتم النبيين وإنَّ آدم لمنجدلٌ في طينته" حديثا أبي هريرة وميسرة الفجر الآتيان برقم (4254) و (4255)، وهما صحيحان.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: His words "the supplication of my father Ibrahim" to the end of the hadith are supported by the preceding narration, and his words "I was the Seal of the Prophets while Adam was still lying in his clay" are supported by the hadiths of Abu Hurayrah and Maysarah al-Fajr coming under nos. (4254) and (4255), which are both sahih.
