Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 410

It is narrated from al-Harith al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah has commanded me with five things which I act upon" (then he mentioned the whole lengthy hadith).
Mu'awiyah bin Sallam and Aban bin Yazid al-Attar have also narrated it in the same way from Yahya bin Abi Kathir.

Grading: This hadith is sahih.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Regarding the narrator in the chain "Hafs bin 'Umar al-'Umari", the most likely view is that he is Hafs bin 'Umar bin Suwayd Abu 'Umar al-Khattabi al-'Adawi al-Baghdadi.
Reference / Source: Ibn 'Asakir mentioned him in "Tarikh Dimashq" 14/ 423 - 425 and al-Khatib al-Baghdadi in "Tarikh Baghdad" 9/ 89. They mentioned that Hafs narrated from Mu'awiyah bin Sallam, but did not record any criticism (jarh) or praise (ta'dil) of him; the rest of the narrators of the chain are all "thiqah" (trustworthy).
