ما حدَّثناه أبو الحسن محمد بن الحسين بن منصور، حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن يونس البَزَّاز، حدثنا أبو بكر بن نافع، حدثنا معتمِر بن سليمان، حدثني سليمان أبو عبد الله المدني، عن عبد الله بن دينار، عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إِنَّ الله لا يَجمَعُ أمَّتي - أو قال: أمَّة محمد ﷺ على ضلالةٍ أبدًا، ويدُ الله على الجماعة - وقال بيده يَبسُطُها - إِنَّه مَن شَذَّ شَذَّ في النار" (2). قال الحاكم: فقد استقرَّ الخلافُ في إسناد هذا الحديث على المعتمر بن سليمان - وهو أحد أركان الحديث - من سبعة أوجهٍ لا يَسَعُنا أن نَحكُم أَنَّ كلَّها محمولة على الخطأ، ولا أنَّ كلَّها محمولة على الصواب، وقد كنتُ أسمع أبا علي الحسين بن علي الحافظ يحكم بالصواب لقول من قال: عن المعتمر عن سليمان بن سفيان المديني عن عبد الله بن دينار، ونحن إذا قلنا هذا القول نَسَبْنا الراوي إلى الجهالة فوَهَّنّا به الحديث، ولكنا نقول: إنَّ المعتمر بن سليمان أحدُ أئمَّة الحديث، وقد رُوِيَ عنه هذا الحديث بأسانيدَ يَصِحُّ بمثلها الحديث، فلا بدَّ من أن يكون له أصل بأحد هذه الأسانيد. ثم وَجَدْنا للحديث شواهدَ من غير حديث المعتمر لا أدَّعي صحتَها ولا أحكمُ بتوهينها، بل يَلْزَمُني ذِكرُها لإجماع أهل السُّنّة على هذه القاعدة من قواعد الإسلام، فممَّن رُوِيَ عنه هذا الحديث من الصحابة عبدُ الله بن عباس:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah will never gather my Ummah (or he said: the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)) upon misguidance, and the Hand of Allah is over the Jama'ah" (he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured by spreading out his hand), "indeed, whoever separates from the Jama'ah goes off alone into the Fire."
Imam al-Hakim says that seven kinds of disagreement have been reported in the chains of this hadith from al-Mu'tamir bin Sulayman (who is one of the pillars of hadith); we cannot say that all of them are wrong, nor that all of them are right. However, al-Mu'tamir is a great Imam, and this hadith is narrated from him with chains through which a hadith is established as sahih, so its origin must certainly be present in one or another of these chains. Moreover, this hadith has other supporting narrations that strengthen this principle.
