ما أخبرني محمد بن عبد الله العُمَري، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق، حدثني علي بن الحسين الدِّرهَمي، حدثنا المعتمِر بن سليمان، عن سفيان - أو أبي سفيان - عن عبد الله بن دِينار، عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لن يَجمَعَ اللهُ أمَّتي على ضلالةٍ أبدًا، ويد الله على الجماعة هكذا - ورفع يديه - فإنه مَن شَذَّ شَذَّ في النار" (1). قال الإمام أبو بكر محمد بن إسحاق: لستُ أعرِفُ سفيان أو أبا سفيان هذا. والخلاف الخامس على المعتمر فيه:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah will never gather my Ummah upon misguidance, and the Hand of Allah is over the Jama'ah like this (he (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands). Whoever breaks away from the Jama'ah breaks away into Hell."

Grading: This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrih", though its chain is "da'if".
وأخرجه الخطيب البغدادي في "الفقيه والمتفقه" (420) من طريق محمد بن محمد الحجّاجي، عن محمد بن إسحاق، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi narrated it in "al-Faqih wa al-Mutafaqqih" (420) through the route of Muhammad bin Muhammad al-Hajjaji from Muhammad bin Ishaq with this same chain.
