أخبرني إبراهيم بن محمد بن حاتم الزاهد، حدَّثنا محمد بن إسحاق الصَّنْعاني، أخبرنا محمد بن جُعشُم (2)، حدَّثنا سفيان، عن خُصَيف، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عباس: ﴿وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ﴾ قال: المطر ﴿وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ﴾ قال: ذات النَّبات (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. 87 - تفسير سورة (سبِّح اسم ربك الأعلى) ﷽

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty "By the sky which returns (rain)" [Surah al-Tariq: 11], that he said: What is meant is rain; and concerning "and by the earth which cracks open" [Surah al-Tariq: 12] he said: What is meant is the sprouting of vegetation.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) تحرَّف في (ب) إلى: جعثم. ومحمد بن جعشم هذا: هو محمد بن شرحبيل بن جعشم.
Note / Clarification: In manuscript (B) this is corrupted into "Ja'tham". This Muhammad bin Ju'sham is in fact "Muhammad bin Shurahbil bin Ju'sham".
(3) إسناده حسن في المتابعات والشواهد من أجل خصيف - وهو ابن عبد الرحمن الجزري - وقد توبع. سفيان: هو الثوري.
Grading: Its chain is "hasan" in corroborating chains and supporting reports because of Khusayf (Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Jazari), and he has been corroborated. Sufyan is "al-Thawri".
وأخرجه عبد الرزاق في "تفسيره" 2/ 365، وكذا الطبري 30/ 148، وأبو الشيخ في "العظمة" (746)، والثعلبي في "تفسيره" 10/ 180 - 181 من طريق سفيان الثوري، بهذا الإسناد - وسقط في مطبوع الثعلبي سفيان من الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Abd al-Razzaq in his Tafsir (2/365), al-Tabari (30/148), Abu al-Shaykh in "al-'Azamah" (746), and al-Tha'labi in his Tafsir (10/180-181) via Sufyan al-Thawri, with this chain. In the printed edition of al-Tha'labi, Sufyan's name has dropped out of the chain.
وأخرجه إبراهيم الحربي في "غريب الحديث" كما في "تغليق التعليق" 4/ 365، والضياء المقدسي في "المختارة" 12/ (115) من طريق إسرائيل، عن سماك بن حرب، عن عكرمة، به.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibrahim al-Harbi in "Gharib al-Hadith" (as in "Taghliq al-Ta'liq" 4/365) and al-Diya' al-Maqdisi in "al-Mukhtarah" (12/115) via Isra'il, from Simak bin Harb, from Ikrimah, likewise.
