Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3951

Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj said: I saw Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reciting the first verse of Surah al-Mutaffifin, "Woe to those who give short measure" [Surah al-Mutaffifin: 1], while weeping (out of fear of Allah). He said: What is meant is a man who hires another man (as a labourer), or engages the services of someone who measures and weighs, while knowing that he is unjust and gives short measure in his measuring and weighing; the burden (of that shortfall) will be upon him (the one who hired him).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "da'if jiddan" (very weak). Ibrahim bin Yazid (al-Khuzi) is "matruk al-hadith" (abandoned in hadith), and al-Dhahabi declared him weak in "al-Talkhis". We did not find this narration anywhere other than with the author (al-Hakim).
