It is narrated from Khalid bin Ar'arah (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: When Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, that event frightened me greatly, so I came to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). While I was sitting with him, a man asked him: What is meant by "al-jawari al-kunnas" (those that run and hide)? He said: What is meant is the stars.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
