It is narrated from Sa'id bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: For a year I kept coming to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), but (out of awe of him) I could not speak to him, and he did not know me. Then Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked me: Who are you? I said: I am from the people of Iraq. He asked: From which of them? I said: From Banu Asad. He asked: Are you from their Haruri (Khariji) sect, or from those upon whom Allah has bestowed His favour? I said: From those upon whom Allah has bestowed His favour. He said: Now ask. I asked: What is the meaning of "I swear by the Day of Resurrection" [Al-Qiyamah: 1]? He said: Your Lord swears by whatever He wills of His creation. I asked: And "And I swear by the self-reproaching soul" [Al-Qiyamah: 2]? He said: It refers to the blamed soul that regrets its sins. I asked: "Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? Yes, (We are) able to restore even his fingertips" [Al-Qiyamah: 3-4]? He said: If Allah had willed, He would have made man's fingertips like the hoof of a camel or the hoof of a donkey. I asked: What is the meaning of "a place of settlement and a place of deposit" [Al-An'am: 98]? He said: By "mustaqarr" (place of settlement) is meant the mother's womb, and by "mustawda'" (place of deposit) is meant the father's loins.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Its narrators are "thiqah", except that Mughirah (Ibn Miqsam al-Dabbi) is too late to have met Tamim al-Dabbi (so there is a break). His narration is in fact known from Tamim's son "Abu al-Khayr" (also called Abu Jabr) 'Abd al-Rahman bin Tamim, as in the biographical works and as occurs in al-Tabari's "Tafsir". Ibn Hibban mentioned this 'Abd al-Rahman bin Tamim in his "al-Thiqat" (7/68) and said that al-Mughirah narrated from him, and Abu Hatim al-Razi (in "al-Jarh wa al-Ta'dil" 5/281) added "Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani al-Sabi'i" among those who narrated from him. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ishaq bin Ibrahim is "Ibn Rahawayh" and Jarir is "Ibn 'Abd al-Hamid al-Dabbi". Reference / Source: Al-Tabari narrated it in pieces in his Tafsir (29/173, 174, 175) from Muhammad bin Humayd al-Razi, from Jarir, from Mughirah, from "Abu al-Khayr bin Tamim al-Dabbi", from Sa'id bin Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas. Reference / Source: The tafsir of "al-mustaqarr" and "al-mustawda'" has already passed with the author (al-Hakim) at number (3272) by way of Abu Bishr Ja'far bin Abi Wahshiyyah, from Sa'id bin Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas.
