Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3894

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "Then We would have cut from him the aorta (al-watin)" [Al-Haqqah: 46], that he said: It refers to that vein of the heart (the main artery) which is attached to the back.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): What is "mahfuz" by this route is that it is the saying of Mujahid, because the teacher of the author (al-Hakim), "'Abd al-Rahman bin al-Hasan", is weak, and he has been contradicted.
Reference / Source: Thus al-Tabari (29/67) narrated it from al-Harith bin Abi Usamah, from al-Hasan bin Musa al-Ashyab, from Warqa' al-Yashkuri, from 'Abd Allah bin Abi Najih, from Mujahid as his own saying. This chain is "sahih".
Reference / Source: Likewise, in al-Tabari's work, Abu 'Asim al-Nabil narrated it from 'Isa bin Maymun al-Jurashi, from Ibn Abi Najih.
