It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: The son of Adam hurts Me; he says: Oh, the failure of time! So let none of you ever say 'O failure of time', for I am time (its Creator). It is I who keep turning over its night and its day, and when I will, I shall fold them both up."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it in this way.

Grading: Its chain is "sahih". It is in "Jami' Ma'mar" (20938). Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad (12/ 7683) and Muslim (2246) from Abd al-Razzaq, with the same chain and text. Therefore al-Hakim's calling it a mustadrak is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part. Reference / Source: Ahmad also narrated it (13/ 7518) from Abd al-A'la bin Abd al-A'la, from Ma'mar. See also the narrations before it.
