It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "And the Trumpet (Sur) will be blown" [Surah al-Zumar: 68]: "It is a horn (qarn) into which it will be blown."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: The hadith is sahih; its narrators are thiqah, but it is "munqati'" (broken): Sulayman al-Taymi did not hear from Bishr; between the two of them is "Aslam al-Ijli", who is thiqah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The attribution of Bishr bin Shaghaf to "Tamim" here is questionable; this attribution is not found in the sources, and he is "al-Dabbi". In Abd al-Razzaq's Tafsir (2/ 175) it is the same as with the author (al-Hakim).
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i and the author (later at 3912, 8894) from Sulayman al-Taymi, from Aslam al-Ijli, from Bishr bin Shaghaf (without mention of the verse). al-Tirmidhi called it "hasan".
