Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3666

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that, while in a garden in Ta'if called "al-Waht", he related: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Sayyiduna Sulayman bin Dawud (peace be upon him) asked Allah Almighty for three things. Allah granted him two of them, and I hope that Allah has granted him the third as well. He asked Allah for judgement (the ability to judge) that would accord with Allah's judgement, and Allah granted it to him. He asked Allah for a kingdom that would befit no one after him, and Allah granted that to him too. And he asked that any man who leaves his house intending nothing but to pray in this mosque, meaning Bayt al-Maqdis, would come out of his sins as pure as on the day his mother gave birth to him." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And we hope that Allah Almighty has granted him this (third) one as well."
