فحدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا يحيى بن محمد، حدثنا أبو الوليد، حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، عن حُميد، عن بكر بن عبد الله المُزَني، أنَّ أبا سعيد الخُدْري قال: رأيتُ فيما يَرَى النائمُ كأني افتتحتُ سورة (ص) حتى انتهيتُ إلى السجدة، فسَجَدَت الدَّوَاةُ والقلمُ وما حولَه، فأخبرتُ بذلك النبيَّ ﷺ، فسَجَدَ فيها (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I saw in a dream that I was beginning to recite Surah Sad, until when I reached the place of prostration, the inkpot, the pen and everything around me prostrated. I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) also prostrated at that place.

(1) إسناده رجاله ثقات إلّا أنه ضعيف لانقطاعه، فإنَّ بكر بن عبد الله المزني لم يسمعه من أبي سعيد، بيَّن ذلك هُشيم في روايته عن حميد الطويل عند البيهقي في "سننه" 2/ 320 و"الدلائل" 7/ 20 حيث قال فيه بكر المزني: أخبرني مخبرٌ عن أبي سعيد، فذكر بينهما واسطة مجهولة.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, but it is "da'if" (weak) because of a "break in the chain" (inqita'), since Bakr bin Abd Allah al-Muzani did not hear it from Abu Sa'id.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Hushaym made this clear in his narration from Humayd al-Tawil (al-Bayhaqi), where Bakr al-Muzani said: "An informant informed me from Abu Sa'id", thus mentioning an "unknown intermediary" between them.
وأخرجه أحمد (18/ 11741) من طريق يزيد بن زريع، عن حميد، عن بكر: أنه أخبر أنَّ أبا سعيد رأى … وساقه، وظاهره صورته الإرسال.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad (18/ 11741) from Yazid bin Zuray', from Humayd, from Bakr, that "he was informed that Abu Sa'id saw" (and the rest). Outwardly it has the form of "irsal" (mursal transmission).
وأخرجه أيضًا (11799) عن محمد بن أبي عدي، عن حميد، عن بكر، قال: قال أبو سعيد الخدري ..
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad (11799) from Muhammad bin Abi Adi, from Humayd, from Bakr, who said: Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said (and the rest).
وأخرجه بلفظ آخر عبد الرزاق في "مصنفه" (5869) عن سفيان بن عيينة، عن عاصم بن سليمان الأحول، عن بكر بن عبد الله المزني: أنَّ رجلًا أتى النبي ﷺ فقال: يا رسول الله، رأيت كأنَّ رجلًا يكتب القرآن وشجرة حِذاءَه، فلما مرَّ بموضع السجدة التي في (ص) سَجَدَت وقال: اللهم أحدِث لي بها شُكرًا، وأعظِم لي بها أجرًا، واحطط بها وِزرًا، فقال النبي ﷺ: "فنحن أحقُّ من الشجرة". وهذا مرسل رجاله ثقات.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Abd al-Razzaq (5869) in different wording from Sufyan bin Uyaynah, from Asim al-Ahwal, from Bakr al-Muzani: that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (with the story of the prostration), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We are more entitled than the tree."
Grading: This is "mursal", and its narrators are thiqah.
وأخرجه بنحو هذا اللفظ أبو يعلى (1069)، والطبراني في "الأوسط" (4768) من طريق اليمان بن نصر، عن عبد الله بن سعد المزني، عن محمد بن المنكدر، عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف، عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال: رأيت … وهذا إسناد ليِّن، اليمان بن نصر روى عنه جمع وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات"، إلّا أنَّ أبا حاتم الرازي جهَّله كما في "الجرح والتعديل" 9/ 311، وشيخه عبد الله بن سعد لم نقف له على ترجمة.
Reference / Source: It was recorded with similar wording by Abu Ya'la (1069) and al-Tabarani (al-Awsat 4768) via al-Yaman bin Nasr, from Abd Allah bin Sa'd al-Muzani, from Muhammad bin al-Munkadir, through to Abu Sa'id.
Grading: This chain is "soft" (layyin). Ibn Hibban mentioned al-Yaman bin Nasr in "al-Thiqat", but Abu Hatim al-Razi called him majhul (unknown). And no biography of his shaykh Abd Allah bin Sa'd was found.
وفي الباب عن ابن عبَّاس سلف عند المصنف برقم (894)، وإسناده ضعيف.
Note / Clarification: In this chapter the hadith of Ibn Abbas has passed with the author (al-Hakim) at (894), and its chain is "da'if" (weak).
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, but it is "da'if" (weak) because of a "break in the chain" (inqita'), since Bakr bin Abd Allah al-Muzani did not hear it from Abu Sa'id.
