حدثنا أبو الحسن علي بن الفضل السامَرِّيُّ ببغداد، حدثنا أبو علي الحَسَن بن عَرَفة العَبْدي، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن محمد المُحارِبي، عن محمد بن عمرو، عن أبي سَلَمة، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "أعمارُ أمَّتي ما بين الستينَ إلى السبعين، وأقلُّهم مَن يَجُوزُ ذلك" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The lifespans of the people of my Ummah are between sixty and seventy years, and very few of them go beyond that age."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن. محمد بن عمرو: هو ابن علقمة الليثي، وأبو سلمة: هو ابن عبد الرحمن بن عوف.
Grading: The hadith is sahih and this chain is hasan.
Note / Clarification: Muhammad bin Amr is Ibn Alqamah al-Laythi, and Abu Salamah is Ibn Abd al-Rahman bin Awf.
وأخرجه ابن ماجه (4236)، والترمذي (3550)، وابن حبان (2980) من طريق الحسن بن عرفة، بهذا الإسناد. وحسّنه الترمذي والحافظ ابن حجر في "الفتح" 20/ 26.
Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (4236), al-Tirmidhi (3550) and Ibn Hibban (2980) recorded it via al-Hasan bin Arafah, with this same chain.
Grading: Al-Tirmidhi and the hafiz Ibn Hajar (in "al-Fath" 20/ 26) graded it hasan.
وأخرجه الترمذي (2331) من طريق كامل أبي العلاء، عن أبي صالح، عن أبي هريرة - ولم يقل فيه: "وأقلهم من يجوز ذلك"، وإسناده حسن، وحسّنه الترمذي.
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (2331) recorded it via Kamil Abu al-Ala', from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (without the words "and the fewest of them are those who pass beyond that"), and its chain is hasan; al-Tirmidhi graded it hasan.
