Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3621

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: "Do not be like those who harmed Musa" [Surah al-Ahzab: 69]: His people had said about him that he had adrah (a swelling of the testicles). So one day he went out to take a bath and placed his clothes on a stone. The stone ran off with his clothes, and Musa (peace be upon him) ran after it naked until it reached the gatherings of the Children of Israel. They saw him and he did not have that ailment. This is the saying of Allah: "So Allah cleared him of what they said, and he was honourable in the sight of Allah." This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it in this wording.
