Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its narrators are thiqah, except that "Abu Uthman" (al-Ja'd bin Dinar al-Yashkuri) alone mentions Umm Sulaym sending "hays" (a kind of sweet dish) to the wedding feast (walimah) of Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her), whereas everyone else who narrated it from Anas mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fed the people bread and meat at it.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Qadi Iyad pointed to this difficulty in "Ikmal al-Mu'lim" (4/ 602). See also Ibn Hajar's "Fath al-Bari" (15/ 448-449).
Reference / Source: Ahmad (20/ 12669) and Muslim (1428) (95) recorded it via Abd al-Razzaq, with this same chain. So al-Hakim's including it as a supplement (istidrak) is an oversight on his part.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (11352) recorded it via Muhammad bin Thawr, from Ma'mar, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: Muslim (1428) (94), al-Tirmidhi (3218) and al-Nasa'i (6584) recorded it via Ja'far bin Sulayman, and al-Bukhari (5163) recorded it as mu'allaq (without a connected chain) from Ibrahim bin Tahman, both from Abu Uthman, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: It was recorded with similar wording or with the same meaning via several routes from Anas by Ahmad (19/ 12023, 20/ 12716 and 13025, 21/ 13361 and 13538), al-Bukhari (5166, 5466, 6238, 6239, 6271 and 7421), Muslim (1427) (87) and (1428), al-Tirmidhi (3217 and 3219), al-Nasa'i (5379, 6581, 8869, 11348, 11352, 11353, 11356 and 11357) and Ibn Hibban (5145, 5578 and 5579).
Note / Clarification: "Al-hays" is a food made of dried curd (aqit), clarified butter and dates.
