It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Luqman (the Wise), while advising his son, said: O my dear son! Beware of muffling your face with a veil (whether out of arrogance or for any other reason), for at night it is a cause of alarm to others (because of its frightening appearance), and by day it is a cause of disgrace."
This text is a supporting narration (shahid) and its chain is sahih (authentic), and Allah knows best.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "da'if". Technical note / Defect ('illah): Yahya bin Muhammad al-Halabi is "majhul al-hal" (of unknown condition), and Musa bin Sulayman (Ibn Musa al-Qurashi al-Umawi al-Dimashqi) is a shaykh in whom there is "jahalah" (obscurity). Moreover, there is also "idtirab" (inconsistency) in this chain. Reference / Source: Thus Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated it in Ibn Abi Hatim's "Tafsir" (as in Ibn Kathir's Tafsir 6/ 343 and al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah 3/ 15) from Isa bin Yunus, from al-Awza'i, from Musa bin Sulayman, from al-Qasim bin Mukhaymirah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), thus making it "mursal". Technical note / Defect ('illah): And Ibn Abi Shaybah contradicted him in "al-Musannaf" (8/ 751), narrating it from Isa bin Yunus with this chain from al-Qasim bin Mukhaymirah and keeping it "mawquf" on him, mentioning neither Abu Musa nor the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And Isa bin Yunus was corroborated in this narration by "Abu al-Mughirah Abd al-Quddus bin al-Hajjaj al-Khawlani" and "al-Walid bin Muslim", both narrating from al-Awza'i, as found in Abu Nu'aym's "al-Hilyah" (6/ 82). Important point: So the "mahfuz" (preserved) position is that this narration is "mawquf" on al-Qasim bin Mukhaymirah.
