It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, "And you commit evil in your gatherings" [Surah al-Ankabut: 29], and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They (the people of Lut) used to pelt passers-by with pebbles and mock them. That was the evil which they used to commit in their gatherings."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
