أخبرني أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، حدثنا إبراهيم، أخبرنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا سليمان التَّيمي، عن الحسن بن مسلم، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: ما من عامٍ أمطرَ من عامٍ، ولكنَّ الله يُصرِّفُه حيث يشاءُ، ثم قرأ: ﴿وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَاهُ بَيْنَهُمْ﴾ الآيةَ [الفرقان: 50] (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "No year has more rain than another year; rather, Allah Almighty distributes it (the rainwater) wherever He wills." Then he recited this verse: "And We have certainly set it forth among them in various ways (or: distributed it among them)" [Surah al-Furqan: 50].
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Note / Clarification: Ibrahim is Ibrahim bin Abd Allah bin Yazid al-Sa'di.
وأخرجه البيهقي 3/ 363 من طريق محمد بن عبد الملك، عن يزيد بن هارون بهذا الإسناد. وأخرجه ابن أبي الدنيا في "المطر والرعد" (24) و (75)، والطبري في "تفسيره" 19/ 22، وكذا ابن أبي حاتم 8/ 2706 من طرق عن سليمان التيمي، به.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Bayhaqi (3/ 363) through Muhammad bin Abd al-Malik, from Yazid bin Harun, with this chain. Also, Ibn Abi al-Dunya recorded it in "al-Matar wa al-Ra'd" (24, 75), al-Tabari in his "Tafsir" (19/ 22) and Ibn Abi Hatim (8/ 2706), through various routes from Sulayman al-Taymi.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
