It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning this statement of Allah Almighty: "The fornicator does not marry except a fornicatress or a polytheist woman" [Surah al-Nur: 3], that in Madinah there were some immoral women whose places were well known, and some (needy) Muslim men wanted to marry these women so that they would spend on them. So they were forbidden from that.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits

Grading: (2) The report is "hasan". The narrators of the chain are "thiqah", but it is "munqati'" between al-Qasim and Abd Allah, because between them is "al-Hadrami" (who is not Ibn Lahiq). He is, in sha' Allah, "hasan al-hadith". Reference / Source: Ahmad bin Mani' (Ithaf al-Khiyarah: 5769/ 2) and al-Tabari (18/ 71) narrated it via Hushaym. Al-Tabari's wording is: "Kunna nisa'an ma'lumat" (they were known women). Note / Clarification: By "al-mawarid" is meant that men used to come to them and attend them; it is an allusion to "adulterous women".
