أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الزاهدُ الأصبهاني، حدثنا أحمد بن مِهرانَ الأصبهاني، حدثنا محمد بن سابقٍ، حدثنا مالك بن مِغوَل، عن عبد الرحمن بن سعيد بن وَهْب، عن عائشة قالت: قلت: يا رسول الله، قولُ الله ﷿: ﴿وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوْا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ﴾ [المؤمنون: 60]، أهو الرجلُ يَزْني ويَسرِق ويشربُ الخمر وهو مع ذلك يخافُ اللهَ ﷿؟ قال: "لا، ولكنه الرجلُ يصومُ ويُصلِّي ويتصدَّقُ وهو مع ذلك يخافُ اللهَ ﷿" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, this statement of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "And those who give what they give while their hearts are fearful" [Surah al-Mu'minun: 60], does it refer to the man who commits adultery, steals and drinks wine, and despite that fears Allah, the Mighty and Majestic? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather it refers to the man who fasts, prays and gives charity, and despite that fears Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
The chain of narration of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده ضعيف لانقطاعه بين عبد الرحمن بن سعيد وعائشة، فإنه لم يسمع منها كما قال أبو حاتم الرازي.
Grading: (1) Its chain is "da'if" because of the "break" between Abd al-Rahman bin Sa'id and A'ishah. According to Abu Hatim, he did not hear from A'ishah.
وأخرجه أحمد (42/ 25263) و (25705)، وابن ماجه (4198)، والترمذي (3175) من طرق عن مالك بن مغول، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad, Ibn Majah and al-Tirmidhi narrated it via Malik bin Mighwal with this same chain.
