Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) This hadith can possibly be graded "hasan" on the strength of its supporting reports (muhtamil li-l-tahsin), while this chain by itself is "da'if".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator 'Asim bin Raja' is not that strong, only "suwaylih" (passable), and the narration of his father Raja' bin Haywah from Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) is "mursal" (no meeting established). Abu Nu'aym is al-Fadl bin Dukayn.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi (10/ 12) recorded it from Abu 'Abdullah al-Hakim, with this chain.
Reference / Source: Al-Daraqutni recorded it in his "Sunan" (2066) via 'Abbas bin Muhammad, from Abu Nu'aym, with it (bihi).
Reference / Source: Al-Bazzar (4087) and al-Tabarani in "Musnad al-Shamiyyin" (2102) recorded it via Isma'il bin 'Ayyash, from 'Asim bin Raja', with it.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (7461) and "al-Saghir" (1111), and Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" (1/ 404), recorded something similar (but without mention of the verse at its end) via Tawus from Abu al-Darda' as "marfu'", with the wording: "Allah has laid down obligations, so do not neglect them; He has set limits, so do not transgress them; and He has kept silent about many things, not out of forgetfulness, so do not burden yourselves with them; (this is) a mercy from Allah, so accept it."
Grading: Its chain up to Tawus contains Asram bin Hawshab, who is "halik" (ruined, i.e. severely weak). It has another route from Tawus that is of no use (la yufrahu bihi), in al-Tabarani's "al-Awsat" (8938) and al-Daraqutni (4814); it contains Nahshal bin Sa'id, who is "accused of lying" (muttaham bi-l-kadhib).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is also a narration from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) in Ibn 'Adi's "al-Kamil" (7/ 15).
Grading: Its chain is "very weak" (da'if jiddan); it contains Nu'aym bin al-Muwarri', about whom Ibn 'Adi said: weak, he steals hadith.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) will come with the author (al-Hakim) at no. (7292).
Grading: Its chain is "da'if" because it is "munqati'" (broken), and there is disagreement about whether it is marfu' or mawquf. However, al-Nawawi graded it "hasan" in "al-Adhkar", "al-Arba'in" and "Riyad al-Salihin".
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) will come at no. (7293). It has several chains, some of which are "da'if", and there is also disagreement about whether it is marfu' or mawquf, muttasil or mursal.
Important point: The most authentic thing on this topic is the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) as "mawquf" on him (his own statement). It has passed at no. (3275) and will come at no. (7291).
