حدثنا محمد بن صالح بن هانئ، أخبرنا السَّرِيّ بن خُزيمة، حدثنا سعيد بن هُبَيرة، حدثنا عبد الله بن المبارَك، أخبرنا صفوان بن عمرو، عن عبد الله (2) بن بُسْر، عن أبي أُمامةَ، عن النبي ﷺ في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَيُسْقَى مِنْ مَاءٍ صَدِيدٍ (16) يَتَجَرَّعُهُ﴾ [إبراهيم: 16، 17]، قال: "يُقرَّب إليه فيَتكرَّهُه، فإذا أُدنِيَ منه شَوَى وجهَه ووَقَعَ فَرْوةُ رأسه، فإذا شربه قَطَّعَ أمعاءَه حتى يَخرُجَ من دُبُرِه" يقول الله ﷿: ﴿وَسُقُوا مَاءً حَمِيمًا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُمْ﴾ [محمد: 15]، ويقول الله ﷿: ﴿وَإِنْ يَسْتَغِيثُوا يُغَاثُوا بِمَاءٍ كَالْمُهْلِ يَشْوِي الْوُجُوهَ بِئْسَ الشَّرَابُ﴾ [الكهف: 29] (3).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And he will be given to drink of festering water, which he will try to gulp down." [Surah Ibrahim: 16-17] "It (the water) will be brought near to him and he will loathe it; then when it is brought closer to him, it will roast his face and the skin of his scalp will fall off; then when he drinks it, it will cut his intestines to pieces until they come out of his rear." Allah Almighty says: "And they will be given boiling water to drink, which will cut their intestines to pieces." [Surah Muhammad: 15] And Allah Almighty says: "And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like molten copper, which roasts the faces. How wretched the drink!" [Surah al-Kahf: 29]

(2) في (ز): عبيد الله، مصغرًا، لكن ضُبِّب عليها، وقد سلف الكلام عليه عند الحديث رقم (3379).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (2) Manuscript (Z) has "'Ubaydullah" (in the diminutive form), but a "dabbah" (mark of doubt/error) has been placed on it. Discussion of this has already passed under hadith number (3379).
(3) سعيد بن هبيرة ليس بالقوي كما قال أبو حاتم الرازي في "الجرح والتعديل" 4/ 71، ورماه ابن حبان في "المجروحين" 1/ 327 بالوضع، وهو لم ينفرد به فقد تابعه فيه عن ابن المبارك غيرُ واحد، ورجال الإسناد غيرُه ثقات، وقد سلف برقم (3379) من طريق عبدان المروزي عن ابن المبارك.
Grading: (3) Sa'id bin Hubayrah is "not strong", as Abu Hatim al-Razi said in "al-Jarh wa-l-Ta'dil" (4/ 71), and Ibn Hibban in "al-Majruhin" (1/ 327) accused him of fabricating hadith (wad').
Technical note / Defect ('illah): But he is not "alone" in this narration, for more than one narrator corroborated him in narrating it from Ibn al-Mubarak. And all the other narrators of this chain are "trustworthy" (thiqah). This narration has already passed at number (3379) via 'Abdan al-Marwazi, from Ibn al-Mubarak.
